Collagen Plus Tabs

Benefits of Collagen Plus Tabs

Key Findings

Oral supplementation with collagen peptides, often combined with vitamins and antioxidants, has been shown to significantly improve skin elasticity, hydration, and reduce wrinkle depth. For instance, studies reported a 40% increase in skin elasticity [1] and a 46% reduction in wrinkle volume [2].

Beyond skin benefits, these supplements can positively impact hair and nail health, with observed improvements such as a 99% reduction in hair fall and 40% increase in nail growth over 90 days [3].

Some formulations containing collagen peptides along with other bioactive compounds have demonstrated beneficial effects on joint health, including a 43% reduction in joint pain and a 39% improvement in joint mobility [1].

Introduction

The aging process naturally leads to physiological changes in the skin, hair, and joints, characterized by a decrease in collagen synthesis and alterations in tissue structure. Nutritional supplements, particularly those containing hydrolyzed collagen peptides and various micronutrients, are increasingly recognized for their potential to counteract these age-related changes and improve overall well-being. This report discusses the benefits of a supplement containing Type I collagen peptides, Vitamin C, hyaluronic acid, Coenzyme Q10, keratin, calcium, zinc, manganese, copper, olive extract, green tea extract, grape seed extract, and lutein, drawing upon available scientific literature.

Skin Health Improvements

Several randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled clinical trials highlight the efficacy of oral collagen peptide supplementation, often in combination with antioxidants and vitamins, in enhancing skin properties. A study involving 120 subjects showed a 40% increase in skin elasticity and positive changes in skin architecture, including a reduction in solar elastosis and improved collagen fiber organization [1]. Another trial with 80 healthy women aged 30 and older demonstrated that a low-molecular-weight collagen peptide supplement reduced wrinkle volume by 46%, wrinkle area by 44%, and wrinkle depth by 9%, alongside a 34% increase in skin moisturization over six weeks [2]. Similar findings from a study with 72 healthy women aged 35 or older reported significant improvements in skin hydration, elasticity, roughness, and density over twelve weeks with a blend of collagen peptides, acerola fruit extract, vitamin C, zinc, biotin, and vitamin E complex [4]. Furthermore, an observational study involving 30 participants noted a 31.11% increase in skin hydration, an 18.12% improvement in elasticity, and a 19.19% reduction in wrinkle length over 90 days with a plant-based supplement containing collagen peptides, biotin, and vitamin C [3].

Hair and Nail Benefits

The same observational study that reported skin improvements also found significant benefits for hair and nails. Participants experienced a 99% reduction in hair fall by day 90, a 30-unit improvement in hair density, and a 20% increase in hair growth rate. Nail growth also increased by 40%, with enhanced appearance and strength [3]. A separate study on a nutritional supplement containing peptides, lipids, hyaluronic acid, and collagen showed statistically significant improvements in nail cracking, nail brittleness, hair dullness, hair dryness, and nail softness after 8 weeks, along with a significant decrease in skin dryness [5].

Joint Health and Overall Well-being

Beyond dermatological benefits, some collagen-based supplements contribute to joint health. A double-blind, randomized, placebo-controlled clinical trial on 120 subjects found that daily oral supplementation with hydrolyzed fish collagen, vitamins, antioxidants, and other active ingredients reduced joint pain by 43% and improved joint mobility by 39% [1]. The inclusion of ingredients like green tea extract also offers protection against oxidative stress and contributes to the normal function of the immune system, potentially reducing tiredness and fatigue [6].

Conclusions

Oral supplementation with a comprehensive blend of ingredients, including Type I collagen peptides, Vitamin C, hyaluronic acid, and various antioxidants and minerals, offers significant health benefits across multiple domains. These supplements effectively improve skin elasticity, hydration, and reduce wrinkles, with reported increases in elasticity of up to 40% and reductions in wrinkle depth by up to 48.11% [1] [7]. Furthermore, they enhance hair and nail health, leading to substantial reductions in hair fall (up to 99%) and increased nail growth [3]. Certain formulations also demonstrate positive effects on joint health, alleviating pain and improving mobility [1]. These findings collectively support the use of such nutraceuticals as an effective strategy to combat the visible signs of aging and promote overall well-being.
