Relax¹ Formula Caps

Benefits of Relax¹ Formula Caps

Introduction

The Relax¹ Formula supplement contains a blend of herbal extracts and an amino acid, including Valerian root, Rhodiola, Passionflower, Chamomile, Hops, and L-Theanine. These ingredients are traditionally and scientifically recognized for their potential roles in managing stress, anxiety, and improving sleep quality. This report synthesizes findings from various studies to outline the health benefits associated with these components.

Key Findings

Valerian root and hops have demonstrated effectiveness in improving sleep quality and reducing sleep latency, with a fixed combination showing superiority over valerian alone in reducing sleep latency in patients with non-organic sleep disorder [1] [2] [3].

Passionflower and L-Theanine have been linked to significant reductions in stress-related symptoms and improvements in sleep quality and cognitive functions in healthy adults [4] [5] [6].

Rhodiola rosea L. extract has shown significant reductions in self-reported anxiety, stress, anger, confusion, and depression, along with improvements in total mood [7] [8].

Evidence for Stress and Anxiety Reduction

Herbal remedies like Valerian root, Passionflower, Lavender, Chamomile, Lemon Balm, and Rhodiola are recognized for their potential in managing stress and anxiety by influencing stress hormones, GABAergic activity, and serotonin pathways [8]. A randomized, placebo-controlled, crossover, and double-blind trial involving 30 healthy adults (mean age 48.3 ± 11.9 years) found that L-theanine (200 mg/day) administration for four weeks significantly decreased Self-rating Depression Scale, State-Trait Anxiety Inventory-trait, and Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index scores (p = 0.019, 0.006, and 0.013, respectively) [6]. Similarly, a non-placebo-controlled trial on 80 mildly anxious participants showed that Rhodiola rosea L. (2 x 200 mg dose) significantly reduced self-reported anxiety, stress, anger, confusion, and depression over 14 days [7]. Passionflower has also been shown to have anxiolytic properties, with a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled clinical study involving 65 participants demonstrating a statistically significant reduction in perceived stress and improved general psychological health over 30 days [4] [5].

Evidence for Sleep Improvement

Valerian root is widely used for insomnia and anxiety, with its active compound, valerenic acid, interacting with the GABA(A)-ergic system [9] [10]. A study on 128 individuals found that 400 mg of valerian extract significantly decreased subjectively evaluated sleep latency and improved sleep quality, particularly among poor or irregular sleepers [11]. The combination of valerian and hops extracts has also shown efficacy. An interdisciplinary group of experts concluded that a fixed and standardized dose of 250 mg of valerian extract and 60 mg of hops extract is effective and safe for managing mild to moderate insomnia [1]. A randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled clinical study involving patients suffering from non-organic sleep disorder found that a fixed valerian-hops extract combination (Ze 91019) was significantly superior to placebo in reducing sleep latency, while single valerian extract alone was not [2]. A novel polyherbal formulation including Valeriana officinalis extract, Passiflora incarnata extract, and other herbs (KaraCalm™) administered at 500 mg once daily for 56 days to 60 healthy volunteers resulted in increased overall sleep quality, including total sleep time and reduced sleep onset latency [12].

Conclusions

The ingredients in Relax¹ Formula collectively offer multiple benefits for managing stress, anxiety, and improving sleep. Valerian root and hops are effective in enhancing sleep quality and reducing sleep latency. Passionflower and L-Theanine contribute to reduced stress-related symptoms, improved sleep, and enhanced cognitive functions. Rhodiola rosea L. extract further supports mood improvement and stress resilience. These findings suggest that Relax¹ Formula has the potential to be a safe and effective dietary supplement for promoting mental well-being and better sleep.
